You & Your Tribe Your tribe is dynamic, evolving over time. Eventually we will all reunify as on a spiritual level we are all one. In the interim, we will receive lessons from people who have lessons to learn from us as well. This web of people sharing lessons is our tribe. Until we have evolved beyond all ego, we will expedite our growth most effectively by understanding who is part of our current tribe, and seeking understanding of our lessons.
You were not necessarily geographically born into your tribe. Many people are confused because they feel obligated to invest much of their energy into the family that they were either born or adopted into. This is an illusion. In ancient times, family members spent most of their time on survival needs and stuck together to stay alive. Today, most of our time is spent on our personal evolution. Our tribe is often spread out to prevent “spiritual inbreeding.” Therefore, we may find that some of our family of origin may not be part of our spiritual tribe. The important thing is to avoid investing in a relationship that is motivated by obligation or guilt, regardless of your relationship “role.” Regardless of your connection, it is important to forgive all members of your family, and find gratitude for the lessons they have taught you.
There is nothing more draining than investing energy into a connection with someone who is not in your tribe. Some people may remind us of family members with whom we have unresolved conflicts. We feel obligated to fix these relationships, motivated by an unconscious sense of loss. It is best to forgive those family members with whom you have unfinished business. This will liberate you from unconscious behavior in your present relationships. Let go of relationships that have a cyclical, toxic component that keeps you from evolving. 1. Work amongst your tribe or alone. 2. Live amongst your tribe or alone.
